Emeraldblaze looked at his son redblaze and he was so happy that he became deputy. "Redblaze" Emeraldblaze said looking at the deputy. "Yes fath-- I mean Emeraldblaze" he said with a little grin. "Now let me say this before i start, im happy that you are my son and your are windpacks deputy. i know you will do a great job in surving this pack." Emeraldblaze said. Redblaze looked at his father and smile "ill do everything for this clan and i know it. ill make sure you and ravenfire are safe." Emeraldblaze looked around to see if his mate was around.

Ravenfire spotted her mate and son across the clearing, and rose to her paws. She and Shadowfang, her daughter, had been talking. Both she-wolves rose to their paws, and made their way towards Emeraldblaze and Redblaze. Shadowfang let Ravenfire lean against her as they walked; she was getting old, yet refused to retire. Ravenfire still wished to be a warrior.

Emeraldblaze's eyes lit up and a smile went across his face. Im so glad that our son is deputy and i was just telling him that. Emeraldblaze said and looked at his daughter and smiled. Now Shadowfang, i want you to be the best warrior of them all and please train hard. Redblaze looked at his sister and his mother. Dont worry about me and shadowfang, we got eachothers backs He said with a lot of pride.

"Yup!" Shadowfang replied. She was proud of her brother too, but sometimes it felt like she was chasing his shadow. Always trying to live up to his example. But she quickly banished the sinful thoughts. I shouldn't be jealous when I'm loved equally by my parents.

Emeraldblaze smailed at his pups, full grown warriors and everything. The grey wolf looked at his mate We still have more battles ahead of us and i know were old but we still got younge hearts. Redblaze looked at his father ready to protest but he didnt. Im glad you two arent retired yet, cause we get to fight together as a family on the battle field!

"Yeah," Ravenfire agreed, "I still got life in me yet to fight." Shadowfang smiled at her mother. She had so much gusto coupled with a still-fiery attitude. Though Shadowfang herself wasn't much of a warmonger, she somewhat agreed with Redblaze. Together, as a family.

A pair of mixed sapphire and green eyes watched the family laugh and celebrate. It was a very touching sight to some, and to others it was putting alcohol in front of an alcoholic. This wolf wanted to be a mother, she wanted to have a family. Breezesong sighed as she wrapped her tail around her paws, not really caring where they went. She knew that her wish would've gladly been granted by her loving mate, Tainteddream, but she didn't know if he wanted the same. But wasn't that the next step to take in their strong relationship? It would be a handful, but a blessing all the same. WindPack was on the verge of loosing their minds and bodies, and pups and news of pups was always the thing to make them push harder.
Deciding not to be a little outcast, Breezesong padded over to the family. She dipped her head to the deputy and the respected senior warrior and the other warriors as well. She always wanted to be nice and polite, especially in front of the second-in-command. "I forgot to express my congradulations. Congrats, Redblaze. You'll be a fine leader when the day comes," she said to Redblaze, a smile on her face. Yes, he was young, but he had time to learn. The warrior then turned to Ravenfire and Emeraldblaze. "You two must be very proud," she murmured, shooting Ravenfire a look. A look that said, 'Like I would be, if I had a litter to call my own'. Hopefully only she caught it.

"Thank you, Breezesong. Its true, I am very proud of my son and daughter," Ravenfire replied. Shadowfang looked at her paws, feeling bashful. The older she-wolf caught Breezesong's look, one she knew very well. All young, wishful she-wolves had that longing, and Ravenfire didn't blame any of them. It was a wonderful feeling. Be patient. When Tainteddream's ready, he'll surely tell you so, she mouthed.

Breezesong blinked and smiled a bit at Emeraldblaze's compliment. It was bittersweet, all the pain she went through, her broken spine, and the victory she'd help make possible. "You are much too kind. Thank you, Emeraldblaze. Don't forget you are one too," she replied, a happy smile in her voice. For the pack in the worst situation, everyone seemed close. It must be a family thing, she thought and made herself sigh. The warrior could tell that she was beginning to fall into the hopeful pattern of the dreams of the newly named female warriors. She wasn't newly named, but she wasn't old either. Just in the prime of her life.
Breezesong caught Ravenfire's look and words. The older she-wolf was reassuring to her, almost like a mother. In fact, she did look up to her as one, since hers weren't around to raise her. Thank you, she mouthed back and managed to put on a smile. Breezesong couldn't help but see Shadowfang's bashful expression. The young warrior was sweet, but too shy, unlike her brother who was outgoing. The fea wanted to break the she-wolf out of her shell and get her out from the shadow of her higher ranking brother. An idea hit Breezesong like the wind. "Hey Shadowfang, how about some time today we can go to the rabbit warrens and search for some grub, eh?" she invited, a smile in her eyes.

Ravenfire smiled, and departed from the group, her stomach compelling her to find something to eat. Shadowfang looked up, her bright yellow eyes shining. Sometimes, she looked exactly like her deceased aunt, Nightstream. "Me? Oh, yes..I'd love to..!" Shadowfang woofed. "Thank you, thanks, Breezesong!"
