Moondust grumbled to herself as she hunted by the river. She hated going near the river, there were to many bad memories, but when your leader says jump, you jump. She caught a vole and a hare and buried them under the twisted roots of an ash tree. Just a few more bits of prey and I can go home. She thought sullenly. Suddenly the dirt underneath her feet tipped her over into the river and she realized that she had just walked off of a small cliff. Just what I needed today. She though, getting up and shaking off her fur. Suddenly she froze, Riverpack scent drifted towards her and she spun around to see none other than the wolf she had been avoiding all of these years.

Leaves crunched under the weight of a huge dog, no wolf. Yet, the steps sounded cracked and uneven, most likely by old age or something of that sort. That was true however, for the owner of the paw steps was old, and wasn't in his prime like he once was. He was still the noble, loyal wolf he had been, but just lost his youthfulness. The silent sound of bones cracking and creaking seemed to rattle everywhere as the old wolf walked along the path towards the river, hoping he would see his lost love, and maybe even his pups.
Moonchase slowly staggered his way towards the rushing river, his hopes were high, but were expected to drop. It took him a little longer than usual to reach the border between ThunderPack and RiverPack, but this was because of his old bones. All those fights, and quarrels were starting to take a toll on the male, for his leg muscles were useless and hehad no more support on his joints. It was just starting to become bone on bone, which caused him to lock up sometimes. "Dang legs. I thought they would be useful for a long time. Guess I was wrong as always," Moonchase mumbled from his graying snout.
As the huge male reached the river, he felt his heart stop. Right infront of him was another silver and white wolf, one much like himself, but only more feminine. She smelled like a femme too, but she smelt more than just ThunderPack. Could this really be Moondust? What about Weedpup? He had never gotten to see or touch his son since the cats moved in. Blinking a few times in disbelief, he kept staring at the image, thinking it would move. Moonchase couldn't help it anymore. "Moondust!?"

Moondust started at the sound of her name as if it was a foreign word that she had no understanding of. She looked up carefully at the old silver male, knowing that her heart was dropping piece by crooked piece into the river. "I never thought that I would see you again, Moonchase." She replied quietly.Seeing him again reminded her of how many moons had past. Great Starpack! She had lost count long ago. Was she even close to what she had looked like way back then? Or was she a mere ghost? Moonchase, the lucky one, had yet to really be worn away by time, though he did look stiff.

To happy for words, Moonchase stiffly ran to the edge of the river, wishing he was young again so he could easily leap across it. Oh, how beautiful she looked, even though time did age her away. Moondust would always be pretty to him, no matter what. Questions buzzed through his mind, and he almost let a few out but decided against it. "You still look very beautiful, Moondust. Tell me, how are the children? I wish I could see them," he barked, wagging his tail as he hoped they were alright. His foggy silver eyes were still full of hope.

Moondust shifted her weight uneasily, taking one paw out of the water at a time, and then placing it back in again. "I know when a complement is just flattery, Moonchase." She said dryly. She saw the hope in his eyes and it felt like a bear had ripped up her heart. After all of this time, how could he still hurt her? It had been such a long time... "And I don't know the answer to your question. They found out that you were there father... and then they vanished." She woofed flatly, wanting to kill the hope. If the hope died it wouldn't hurt her. Moonchase looked as wonderful and strong as ever to her, time preserved some things, he didn't need another weapon against her.

Moonchase was taken back at Moondust's harshness. What did he do? Well, he couldn't be in their lives because of all the fighting and he was busy almost everyday. Either way, she really made him angry. His words were compliments, and their children wouldn't just run off like that. If anything, they would be happy to search for their father. He had a feeling Moondust was hiding them. The hope in his eyes turned to anger and blood-lust. She didn't seem the least bit concerned. "You killed them. A real mother would've spend the remainder of her days looking for them, but all you do is talk flatly to me. What have I done to you? Huh? What made you kill them!?" he snarled, feeling his tail flash out behind him. "So help me, if you are lying. I will leap across this River and kill you. I can't believe your the wolf I risked my love and life for..." he growled, hoping she would feel his pain.

Moondust's fur crept upwards, an easy to read sign of her agitation. She stared at Moonchase in astonishment, and she had thought that she had been cruel. "I don't know how you can think that I killed them." She woofed slowly and quietly, trying to think up strategy. She flinched inwardly at the accusations. How they hurt! "What reason would I have for killing them? I gave everything to them and they rejected me, they left. I spent many moons looking for them and coming up with stale scent and dust. So don't you accuse me of anything, Moonchase. Time must have dimmed your memory if you still believe that I would lie to you about this."
