Normally, Echohowl was a very patient wolf. She had to be, to properly do her job. However, it wasn't part of the job description to get stuck in the mud. She had been looking around this area to find some herbs. Restocking her stock, as it were. Echohowl found a nice batch of poppy seeds, and was walking over to them when her paws sank into the boggy ground, thus becoming stuck. "Help!" she called.

A very young looking fae was walking around the territory, looking for prey when she heard a cry for help. Icepaw froze, it sounded like Echohowl! Icepaw knew that it would be very bad to lose a medicine wolf, especially with no apprentice. The gray fae sprinted to the cry and saw the medicine wolf in the mud. The young apprentice tried not to show her amusement in her eyes as she watched. The fae quickly found a long, thick limb of a cedar tree and dropped it in front of Echohowl. "Grab on! I will pull you out after."

Echohowl sighed in relief as Icepaw came to the rescue. Her pale blue eyes glimmered with a shy amusement. "Eh heh heh, this doesn't usually happen," Echohowl laughed, taking hold of the branch in her teeth. She made sure that she had a good grip before nodding to the apprentice. "Umf kay, ah goit tha branch."

Icepaw's fluffy tail twitch in amusment as Echohowl made the pun, then pulled with all the strength of Starpack and felt Echohowl's body getting pulled out of the mud, then the gray fae fell and was now covered in mud. Icepaw swore in her head but continued to pull.

With Icepaw's help, Echohowl hauled herself out of the mud. Her legs and chest were caked in the dirty substance, staining her steel-gray fur brown. "Huhh, thank you ever so much, Icepaw," Echohowl said appreciatively. "Perhaps we should go wash up." The idea sounded quite grand at that moment in time, as it was hot and both she-wolves were covered with the boggy grime.

The silver she-wolf nodded, trying to to look at Echohowl because she would laugh, and Icepaw wouldn't want to laugh at the medicine wolf. Icepaw looked at her now mud-streaked silver and brown fur with disgust. "Yes please!" The fae wailed, feeling the grime all the way up to her chest.

Echohowl nodded, and ushured Icepaw towards a small, clean pond. She smiled, and plunged into it, the cool water feeling so nice against her warm body. "Come on, Icepaw! The water's alright," the medicine wolf called, and started to wash. Slowly, the mud began to rub off.
