Icepaw sighed, nodding in agreement to her leader. "But it's just so unfair! That rabbit was rightfully ours, and Ravenstar knew it, it had ShadowPack's scent all over it!" She protest, frustrated at the proud WindPack leader. It wasn't fair! Icepaw dug her claws in the ground angrily.

Moonfeather smiled at her leader's praise. Although she was praised alot by her best friend, she started taking each one to heart. Whitestar was growing old, and once her friend did leave, who would be there to praise and comfort her? Just that simple thought madethe young deputy want to cringe and cry. Yet, the stubborn attitude of Icepaw brought back down to earth. Somehow, the apprentice's attitude towards Ravenstar was amusing. It reminded Moonfeather of herself when she was that young, only her hatred went towards Recif and Keeva. The sweet memories made her smile, showing her how stupid she was for getting herself in those scenarios.
"I know, Icepaw. I scent it too. Plus, I watched you kill it myself. It's just that, well, WindPack is having things worse than we are. If you were in their fur and walked in their paws, you would know. To make up for it, why don't the three of us go hunting in the Elk Run? I scented a new heard of moose coming in from the winter," she murmured, pushing the little wolf with her tail carefully. The deputy knew it was a very risky move, going so close near Renegade territory, but certain things had to be done. The only thing reliefing about the Renegades was Dio. Dio wasn't like his father, or his mother for that matter.
She'd met Dio when she was still pregnant with her four pups, and he didn't kill her, in which he could have. He wasn't as threatening, but threatening all the same. "But you'll have to stay close to either Whitestar or myself. I wouldn't want you to get trampled or kicked in the side of the head," Moonfeather warned, looking at Whitestar to see if she agreed.

Whitestar nodded. "We'll just have to watch where we're going. I don't want to give the Renegades a reason to fight with us," she replied wearily. Whitestar stretched luxuriously, satisfied when her shoulder bones popped. She knew the Renegades weren't much of a problem right at the moment, but the uneasy tension was still there.

"I'll go too." Blacksnow put in. "It's been a while since I've been able to eat a nice juicy elk haunch. She glared over her shoulder at Windpack territory but put the fight behind her as the moorlands disappeared.

Icepaw dipped her head. "I would love to go!" She woofed, smiling. Then she saw and scented something on the horizon. The young wolf shook with fear. "Bear." She whispered, shrinking down in fear.

Whitestar nodded to Blacksnow. "Excellent. The more the merrier, hm?" she asked. However, when Icepaw announced that she had scented a bear, the white leader squinted against the blinding glare of the sun to see it properly. But when Whitestar looked harder, she could see the silhouettes of several wolves too. Renegade scent hung in the air, mingling with the musky scent of the bear. She turned to Moonfeather, eyes narrowed in alarm. "Quickly, get down!" Whitestar said urgently, flattening herself to the ground.
She observed the Renegades closely. A big black one, who Whitestar recognized to be none other than Dio himself, barked orders to the others, who surrounded the bear at different angles. "They're trying to fight it," Whitestar murmured. "But its on our territory now, and they've crossed the border. I believe we should assist them; if the bear was trouble for them, then it will be trouble for us."

"And what's wrong with letting them fight it out? If the renegades win they will be that much weaker from the fight. It the bear wins then it'll be wounded and there will be that many less renegades." Blacksnow pointed out cynically. She dug her long hooked claws into the ground as she crouched behind a leafy holly bush.

Moonfeather scowled at Blacksnow as she crouched behind a bush with the rest of them. "Blacksnow! I know we hate the Renegades, but they are wolves too. Well, except for Diogenes's spawn, but that's different. If we were getting attacked by a bear, we would want help too," she snapped at the warrior. Sometimes she wondered just why people couldn't get a grip. The last thing the wolves need is a fight, which could spur into a total war. Moonfeather shuttered at the thought of death, not only was she afraid of it, but she had seen way too much of it.
The gray deputy looked at Whitestar, Blacksnow, and Icepaw, just waiting for the signal. "I'm going on to help them. Blacksnow, you can follow a little after. You guys stay back and watch Whitestar, understood?" she barked, looking at the three wolves before nodding and speeding away. A sudden rush flowed through the wolf, truly bringing out the animal that was inside her. Moonfeather ran up behind the the bear, and leaped. Her fangs exposed in a vicious snarl, and a throaty and horrifying snarl to match as she dug her fangs into the flesh of the bear.

Blacksnow made an ugly face at the dirt. Some wolves didn't get that war meant death, yours or theirs. "Fine, I'll follow you." She muttered sullenly. She waited for the signal and then lept at the bear. She immediatly jumped on his back and sunk her claws in, but she had to jump away since the bear rolled over to knock her off. She dodged flailing paws and sank her teeth into the gross fur around the bear's ribs.

Whitestar turned to Icepaw and Blacksnow. "As Moonfeather said, wait for her signal to follow. Icepaw, you will come with me," she replied, and headed off into the other direction. She trusted Moonfeather enough to handle this. Dio stalked forward, hackles raised, teeth bared. His aura was barely visible in the sun, but it was there, burning a brilliant shade of orange. Then he saw a flash of gray.
The bear roared thunderously, and Dio caught a glimpse of Moonfeather as the creature thrashed angerly. "Figures," he muttered, and joined in the attack, slashing simultaneously at the bear's shoulder before leaping away, narrowly avoiding its huge claws. Dio's tail stood straight up, and he pinned his ears back, switching to defense mode. The black wolf stalked around the bear, and used his power to siphon off its life energy.

Icepaw nodded, her eyes trained on the bear, then Dio, and then Whitestar. Her yellow eyes were wide, scared and afraid but she brought the strength within her and watched Moonfeather, waiting for the signal.

Redblaze looked at his father, "Emeraldblaze, go back to camp and get some more wolves, we need all the help we can get" He said. Emeraldblaze nodded and ran back to the camp. "I hope he can make it in time" He said to himself. He turned around and looked at the bear and then ran around its back. Redblaze leaped for the back of the neck to try and paralyze it.

As the wolves viciously attacked the bear, it roared in both frustration and anger. It bared its large teeth at its adversaries, and sunk its fangs into Redblaze's leg, ripping him from his back. The bear snarled in the Windpack deputy's face, beady black eyes filled with murder. Dio cursed under his breath, not sure of what he was doing. With one fluid motion, he leaped onto the monster's back, sinking his claws into the bear's greasy fur, trying to get a firm hold. Dio raised his head into the air, only to quickly swing back down to sink his fangs deep into the back of the bear's neck. He felt a strange sensation of satisfaction stirring within the pit of his stomach as blood sprayed around his muzzle, deep scarlet staining his fur vermillion.
Distracted, the bear turned away from Redblaze, swinging its body to dislodge the four-legged irritation from its back. It was in pain, and this made the bear angier. Dio's teeth had a firm hold, but his paws didn't, and he slipped off, legs falling under him and dragging in the dust as he stubbornly hung on with his jaws. He was aware that he was vulnerable, with his own neck within reach of those treacherous jaws. A throaty growl ripped from deep within Dio's chest as the bear moved in for the kill, and blue streaks of light shot into its face. Dio was absorbing the bear's energy. But in such a vulnerable position, the ploy didn't work as suspected, and the bear swatted Dio with a powerful blow to his shoulder. His teeth unlatched from their hold, and he tumbled away, thrown around like a ragdoll. I'll be damned if I die for saving that Pack wolf's sorry tail, he thought, struggling to get to his paws, but his shoulder stung.

Redblaze got thrown off and all he remembered was rolling on the ground. He looked to see where the bear was and it wasnt in sight. There was pain in his leg and he looked at it and it was torn. "this is going to break my fathers heart" he said trying to get up. He fell back on the ground cause of how weak and how much blood he lost.

Moonfeather held onto the bear for as long as should could. Her teeth ripped and tore at the bear's flesh, it's foul blood staining her tongue. She had never aquired the taste for bear meat, but in these times she might have too. I'll have to talk to Whitestar about that one,[/color] she thought to herself before being slung off and thrown onto the ground. The deputy could've been hit harder, but it still hurt. Grunting in pain, the she-wolf pulled herself to her paws only to see some WindPack wolves join in the fight.
"What's a matter? A stupid rabbit isn't enough so now you want to cross the border for some bear? You honestly make no sense! Back off!" she snarled at the WindPackers. Without waiting for some smart-ellic reply, she hauled it over to the bear, but gave the signal to Whitestar and Icepaw first. The demon inside her screamed in pleasure as her claws ripped through the skin, tainting them a dark crimson against her gray fur. "I'll be damned if you kill me first!" she cursed at the bear and she clawed and bit her way up to it's head, where it constantly swatted at her and the other wolves.
Reaching up, Moonfeather snapped her jaw shut on the monster's snout, making it cry roars of pain. She grinned and bit harder. Almost as soon as the deputy has latched and jerked on the snout, she found her self out of breath and laying on her side, three ugly slashes down her side. What in the world just happened? Did I just get slapped by the bear? she wondered, but was too dizzy to remember what happened. It was all so fast. "I have to....fight," the wolf gasped, staggering to her paws, letting the blood drip onto the floor, staining her coat. Moonfeather stood for a moment, trying to catch her breath. It was one scratch, how much damage could it do?
